Actualización sobre el caso de Chavelo
Cinco de nosotros fuimos a la Corte Suprema de Honduras hoy para preguntar por qué todavía no ha habido una audiencia prevista para el caso de Chavelo. Había sido prometida por el Presidente de la Sala de lo Penal que habría una audiencia esta semana lo. El Secretario de la Sala Penal nos dijo que la audiencia ha sido programada para el martes de la semana siguiente, 9 de abril. Él se apresuró a añadir, y siguió haciendo hincapié en ello, que siempre puede haber algo para prevenir que podría retrasar aún más, "si uno de los jueces se enferma o si un juez en otra Sala se enferma y uno de nuestros jueces debe sustituir .... "
El Secretario de la Sala Penal sabía tan pronto como entramos por la puerta de lo que estábamos allí para discutir. Este es un testimonio de la presión que se siente de todos los correos electrónicos y las llamadas telefónicas. GRACIAS A TODOS LOS QUE HAN AYUDADO A MANTENER LA PRESIÓN!

Update on Chavelo
Five of us went to the Supreme Court of Honduras today to ask why there still has not been a hearing scheduled for Chavelo's case. It had been promised by the President of the Sala Penal that there would be a hearing this week. The Secretary of the Sala Penal told us that the hearing has now been scheduled for Tuesday next week, April 9th. He was quick to add, and kept emphasizing it, that there could always be something to come up that further delays it, "If one of the judges gets sick or if a judge in another Sala gets sick and one of our judges needs to fill in...."
The Secretary of the Sala Penal knew as soon as we walked in the door what we were there to discuss. This is a testament to the pressure that they are feeling from all the emails and the phone calls. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE HELPED TO SUSTAIN THE PRESSURE!!!
